In partnership with the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria (UVIC), Canada and Chulalongkorn Business School, we are excited to introduce a new option within the Global Business Track (GBT) program: the Double Degree.

This exceptional opportunity enables participants to earn both the MBA degree from Chulalongkorn Business School and the Master of Global Business (MGB) degree from UVIC upon fulfilling the requirements of both programs.

We believe that possessing these degrees will provide participants with enhanced opportunities for career advancement and enriching experiences on a global scale.

The GBT program with the Dual Degree (DD) option offers students the chance to pursue international career opportunities. A key requirement for DD students is the completion of a Global Internship, which is essential for obtaining their dual degree. Students are encouraged to seek positions at organizations from all around the world that align with their interests in global business or international careers, enhancing their international experience
Earning a dual degree from the University of Victoria goes beyond simply acquiring another qualification; it serves as an excellent pathway to finding a place in the realm of international business. The University of Victoria also offers Jobs & Career Services to assist students in exploring and securing new opportunities in their field.
Furthermore, obtaining an additional degree from Chulalongkorn University significantly expands opportunities for international students to explore business within the Asian context. As a highly regarded institution in Thailand, a degree from Chulalongkorn enhances employability in the region.

UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA

North American Business Context

This course examines the socio-economic and legal factors that impact on doing business in North America. Topics include the Canadian Business context, legal system, human rights and employment legislation, labour practices and taxation issues.

International Finance Management

This course introduces the functioning of international financial markets with a focus on developing student’s corporate decision-making for multinational enterprises (MNEs).

Global Strategy and International Marketing

This course is intended to provide students with an opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of global strategy and international marketing by analyzing the issues and providing specific recommendations.

International Logistics and Supply Chain Management

This course aims to help students learn and apply international logistics (IL) and global supply chain management (SCM) concepts and tools to improve global business competitiveness.

Introduction to Professional Practice & Global Internship

Completing all the course of the GBT program and MGB502 Introduction to Professional Practice during the GBT period will leave MBA CBS students needing to complete the MGB537 Global Internship to complete all requirements from UVIC end. Global Internship may range from 2 months to 8 months of full-time paid or unpaid work, 2 Months (300 Hours) being the minimum.

MGB Internship Employment Criteria

To qualify as an internship, the job must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 300 hours; 30+hrs/wk and not less than 8 weeks
  • Paid or unpaid
  • Must be relevant to a global business or international career path
  • Employer must be aware this is an intern program and be willing to provide supervision, submit online evaluations, and be available for a mid-term work site visit

Language, Communication, and Global Business

A critical course for students who determine to work in multi-cultural teams and lead in international business contexts. This course aims to examine the relationship between language, thought, and culture and how to utilize cross cultural communication skills.

Global Leadership and Cultural Intelligence

This course is intended to provide students with an understanding of the challenges of interacting, managing and leading people from various cultural and national backgrounds when conducting business in a global context.
